Acts2 Band Member Job Description

Must Have A Great Attitude

We are big on attitude. Having a good attitude is must being in the band. Mainly that we are here to serve instead of be served. We are here as a team working together for a common cause and not as individuals with alternative motives. We are not here to become rock stars but to bring Glory to God and help others focus on Him.

ACTS2 Commitment

We ask for a 6 month commitment. At the end of the 6 months we go from there and see if we do another 6 month commitment. We do not want our team to get burned out so if a member needs to take a break for whatever reason then we have that option. We ask that you make a commitment to certain Sundays of the month for example the 1st Sunday of every month or 1st and 3rd or 1st and 4th ect..

Music Excellence

A certain level of musical expertise and/or experience is expected on the worship team. We strive for excellence in our playing! That means that we really need to make a commitment to regularly listening to and practicing the music. We encourage musicians to never stop learning or growing. Taking lessons is a great way to grow. Do whatever it takes to continue your growth as a musician. Whether you play an instrument or sing, you should be skilled enough to complete a full set practice within a short time and to follow a service led by the Holy Spirit.
Come to rehearsals thinking creatively and prepared. We are all to be active participants in crafting songs so that they are enjoyable to play and powerful in the Holy Spirit. Our desire is to arrange songs in a way that worships God with out creativity. While being creative is valued, playing together as a team is vital to the style of music we play as well. Everyone has a part, and we need to make sure that we are playing ours, and not everyone else’s. For this worship team, we read our music via chord charts. You must be able to read and follow a standard chord chart and have a good grasp at the type of music that we play.

Equipment

Instrumentalists are expected to have their own instruments (with the exception of drums and piano/keys). Guitarists must have their own pedals, if necessary. If this may be an issue, please do not hesitate to contact Brenan.

Time Commitment

Time commitment is a major part of our team. Each person is expected to honor the time we have together. This means showing up early to be ready to practice at the time scheduled. Currently, we have Sunday morning rehearsals at 8:45am. Any other rehearsals will be made known in advance! If you are ever going to miss a rehearsal or you know ahead of time that you are going to be late, please inform Brenan as soon as possible. We must remain accountable to one another to be on time. Being on time honors everyone on the team. Your punctuality shows value to others and will help accomplish our common goals. Remaining accountable to one another builds our trust.
